What’s wonderful about a wish is how unique it is to every individual child. It can be whimsical and fantasy-like, or simple but still meaningful like Ali’s, all depending on what gives each child the most joy.
Ali, aged 10, has been diagnosed with Lymphoma. He is an active child who enjoys cycling, having cycled to school and around his housing area until his bicycle broke down.
Since then, it has been Ali’s dream to own a new bicycle. To enhance Ali’s special wish, we organised a day out cycling at Desa ParkCity for him and his family.
A few days before his wish day, Ali was brought to a bicycle shop to choose his new bike. He chose a splendid blue and green bicycle as those are his favourite colours! Ali’s new bicycle was also fully equipped with a bell, lights, and water bottle holder, making it roadworthy. His bicycle was delivered home with him, for him to start practicing for his outing.
Ali arrived at Desa ParkCity clad in his full cycling equipment, looking sporty and excited in his new helmet, arm guards and knee guards. He rode his brand new bicycle while his family members joined him on rented bicycles.
They also got to meet our sponsors, Richard Leetham and family, who all came on their bicycles to enjoy the sunshine together!
The rest of the afternoon saw Ali and family enjoying food and games, and Ali was overjoyed to have his wish granted! Now he can cycle to school again.
Our thanks to Richard Leetham and family for adopting Ali’s heartfelt wish, and for joining them on their day out!
