Our CEO Irene Tan introduced the global Make-A-Wish® culture which are: Respect, Dialogue, Good Governance, Accountability and Excellence. All great values to embrace in our work with MAWM.
Volunteers Shen Yee and Dinesram conducted a Wish Capture Session with Wish Child, Qi Wei who also entertained the crowd with some Spanish words he learnt from Youtube! After that entertaining session, Qi Wei’s mum joined us and shared how Qi Wei’s wish (which was granted in 2017) impacted the family. Qi Wei, who now has limited eyesight due to his illness is always grateful when our volunteers met him during his battle with Pre B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. She expressed gratitude to our volunteers and emphasized the importance for kids battling critical illnesses to know they are not alone.
Our Roundtable always comes with activities and fun for all participants, and this year, everyone got to plan upcoming wishes, within a tight timeframe. It was great to see the volunteers mingle and put on their creative caps for this session.
Our 2nd guest speaker, Ariffin Azlan, shared his experiences as a volunteer, moving some listeners to tears. Thank you Ariffin for being a part of us for so many years.
This year, we recognise the following volunteers for their dedication and work that made so many heartfelt wishes possible.
