World Wish Day
Make-A-Wish traces its inspiration to Christopher James Greicius, an energetic 7-year-old boy battling leukemia who wished to be a police officer in 1980, Chris Greicius’ family and friends came together to help grant his wish ‘to be a police officer’. Little did Chris know that his wish would create a movement that would transform millions of lives around the world.
Today, Make-A-Wish has been granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses in nearly 50 countries across 5 continents all over the world. More than 500,000 wishes have been granted globally since then.
Every year, Make-A-Wish chapters and affiliates come together in celebrating World Wish Day on April 29, the anniversary of the wish that inspired the founding of Make-A-Wish.
In Malaysia, we celebrate World Wish Day with wish children and families who have had their wishes granted in previous years. From cinema outings, a day at a themepark or party onboard a cruise, it’s a day to celebrate these children’s bravery and victory against their illness.
Tee Off for Hope
The Make-A-Wish Malaysia Annual Charity Golf Tournament is one of our signature events. Held each year on a world class golf course, this tournament brings together over 100 golfers from corporate executives and individuals. To find out how you or your company can tee off to bring hope and joy to critically sick children, email us at info@makeawish.org.my.

Each participant’s generous contribution has helped provide life-changing impact to twenty wish families across Malaysia, affected by critical illnesses.
