Name : Donnell
Age : 7 years old (2025)
Illness : acute lymphoblastic leukaemia
Wish : To have a keyboard

In 2024, Christmas passed quietly for Donnell and his family. Weeks of hospital visits and treatments replaced the lights, laughter, and music of the season. After being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, the joy he once felt while listening to his dad play the keyboard seemed far away.

Donnell’s wish was simple yet meaningful, he wanted a keyboard so he could play music just like his dad. Music had always been a way for him to connect with his family, to laugh together, and to feel the magic of everyday moments — moments that had become rare during his illness.

On his Wish Day, Donnell stepped into a room filled with Christmas magic — twinkling lights, festive decorations, and warmth that had been missing for so long. When he unwrapped his very own keyboard, his eyes sparkled and his face lit up with pure delight.

For Donnell, it wasn’t just a gift. It was the hope he thought he had lost — now found again.

Serene’s wish

Name : Serene
Age : 17 years old (2023)
Illness : osteosarcoma
Wish : To bake pastries and cakes for the doctors and nurses who cared for her

Serene’s journey began in early 2022, when a persistent pain in her left knee led to the heartbreaking diagnosis of osteosarcoma. What followed were months of surgeries, treatments, and long hospital stays — moments that would challenge anyone, yet Serene faced each one with unwavering courage and her signature bright smile.

Through her toughest days, Serene met countless doctors and nurses who cared for her with patience, warmth, and hope. Their kindness made a deep impact on her, and when it came time to choose her wish, Serene didn’t think about herself. She wanted to give back.

Her wish was simple yet extraordinary, to bake pastries and cakes as a heartfelt thank-you to the medical team who supported her through every step of her journey.

With guidance from a professional pastry chef, Serene learned, practised, and poured her heart into every recipe. Tray after tray, her confidence grew — and so did her joy. When she finally delivered her beautifully made pastries and cakes, the smiles, surprise, and appreciation from each doctor and nurse said it all.

For Serene, it wasn’t just about baking. It was a way to honour the people who helped her stand again, to bring cheer to other young patients, and to show that gratitude can be one of the most powerful gifts of all.

Qayyum’s wish

Name : Qayyum
Age : 5 years old (2024)
Illness : b-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Wish : To have a rideable fire truck

Qayyum may be only 5 years old but he is already a true hero within. Diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, his days are filled with hospital visits, treatments and medication which left him anxious and pensive. Sadly the only time he is outdoors is when he and mum are travelling to the hospital.

Qayyum once saw firefighters in action when passing a local fire station. Since then he has been captivated and told his parents that he would like to be a firefighter when he grows up. Despite his illness, his dream has never faded.

Qayyum started his Wish day a little shy. That was until an abang bomba told him that firefighters must be brave. Without hesitation, he suited up in his custom firefighter uniform and just like a true firefighter, he participated in fire drills, rode in a real fire truck and put out a real fire.

With a big smile, Qayyum received his a rideable fire truck which he wished for, a symbol of his courage and reminder to one day join the ranks of the real-life heroes he admires.

A heartfelt thank you to the abang-abang bomba at Muar Fire and Rescue Station for welcoming Qayyum with open arms and showing him the bravery and kindness that define a true firefighter.

Ayra’s wish

Name : Ayra
Age : 7 years old (2024)
Illness : b-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Wish : To have a bedroom makeover

Ayra’s nightmare began during what should have been a joyful family trip. When she and her family contracted Influenza A, everyone recovered within days, but not Ayra. Her condition showed no improvement, leaving her parents deeply worried. A series of tests, including blood work and a bone marrow extraction, revealed that Ayra had B Cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

As treatment took its toll, slowly draining the vibrancy from her life and dimming her once radiant spirit, Ayra wished for a bedroom makeover— replacing the plain white walls with a colourful hub that reflects her bright personality and her love for all things creative.

However, with the burden and steep cost of her medical treatment, Ayra’s dream bedroom had to be put on hold indefinitely…….until she met Make-A-Wish Malaysia!

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our dedicated volunteers who planned, painted, purchased furniture and decorated her room, Ayra’s bedroom now glows with bright yellow walls and furniture adorned with pink hearts. Her space is now a vibrant sanctuary, her safe haven— a place she can return home from hospital visits to dream of growing up and attending school soon.

We are honoured to see the Power of a Wish through Ayra’s eyes as she jumped with excitement upon entering this new safe space she calls her own.

Wish : To meet Faisal Halim, a Selangor football player

Uthman’s journey has been anything but easy. From seizures and multiple surgeries to chemotherapy and ongoing treatments, he has faced every challenge with courage far beyond his years. Yet through it all, one dream kept him going: to meet his hero, Selangor football player Faisal Halim.

That dream came true in the most unforgettable way. Uthman received his very own personalised jersey, and even Faisal Halim’s football shoes — signed just for him. He watched the team’s training, joined in a warm-up session, and finally stepped onto the field to play alongside Faisal himself. Every smile, every cheer, and every moment of excitement captured the pure joy and inspiration he felt.

 Lavanyan’s wish

Name :  Lavanyan
Age : 9 years old (2025)
Illness : spinal muscular atrophy
Wish : To go to an amusement park

When Lavanyan was just a year and a half old, her doctors noticed something unusual — she wasn’t walking yet, and her body seemed weaker than expected. After tests and early treatment, her family learned she would need ongoing care to help strengthen her muscles.

Since then, Lavanyan’s days have been filled with regular physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and check-ups to monitor her condition. Every morning, she begins her day with exercises to move and strengthen her arms and legs. It’s a routine that takes patience, effort, and courage — qualities she carries with quiet strength.

Despite her challenges, one thing has always made her eyes light up: amusement parks. Her wish was simple and filled with joy — she wanted to ride bumper cars and hop onto the merry-go-round horses with her siblings, just like any child dreaming of adventure.

On her Wish Day, that dream came to life. Lavanyan spent the day laughing with her siblings, feeling the wind on her face during the rides, splashing through water attractions, and choosing a few plushies to bring home as souvenirs of her happiest moments.

For Lavanyan, the day was everything she had been hoping for — a chance to enjoy the same fun, laughter, and adventures her siblings experience so easily. Her smile that day said more than words ever could.

It was a moment where her world felt bigger, brighter, and full of possibilities — a day she will carry in her heart for a long time to come.

Neo’s wish

Name : Neo
Age : 6 years old (2025)
Illness : acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Wish : To have a rideable jeep

At the end of 2024, just weeks before the school holidays, Neo began feeling unusually tired. The energetic, playful boy suddenly grew weak and pale. Worried, his parents brought him to a nearby clinic, where doctors found his blood count to be very low.

A follow-up visit showed no improvement, and Neo was referred to a hospital for further checks. There, doctors noticed abnormalities in his blood and sent a sample for detailed testing. Two days later, the results confirmed what no family ever wants to hear — Neo had leukaemia. He was quickly moved to another hospital to begin treatment.

Through everything, one thing remained constant: Neo’s love for his little brother. His wish was simple but full of heart — he wanted a kids’ rideable jeep so they could ride and play together, just like before he fell ill. On his Wish Day, Neo’s eyes widened the moment he saw the jeep waiting for him. He ran toward it with a bright smile, already imagining the fun adventures he’d share with his brother.

For Neo, it wasn’t just a jeep. It was a moment of freedom. A spark of joy. A reminder that even during treatment, childhood moments can still shine through.

Ayra’s wish

Name : Ayra
Age : 9 years old (2024)
Illness : Stage 4 neuroblastoma
Wish : To be a mermaid

As we celebrate our 1000th wish, we’re thrilled to share the story of Ayra, a brave 9-year-old who wished to be a mermaid!

Back in August 2021, Ayra’s world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma. The next two years were filled with hospital visits and chemotherapy sessions. But through it all, Ayra found her escape in “The Little Mermaid,” watching Ariel’s underwater adventures over and over again.

On Ayra’s wish day, we pulled out all the stops for a royal mermaid-themed event, Pearl of Hope: A Royal Celebration at Sunway Lagoon’s Surf Beach. The highlight? A grand coronation ceremony by none other than our Royal Patron, Tengku Zatashah Idris. Ayra got to swim in the water with a stunning mermaid tail, alongside two other mermaids. It was a day straight out of a fairy tale!

“It was a magical and unforgettable day for Ayra. Thank you for making it happen,” said Ayra’s parents, beaming with joy.
